DESCRIPTIVE ENTRY

This accession documents educational outreach programs such as tours, lectures, and workshops offered by the Cooper-Hewitt Museum. The records were maintained by the Education Department, which was not formally established until 1991. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, and notes of program coordinators and their contacts; budget summaries; tour planning information, itineraries, evaluation forms, reports, and agreements; meeting minutes; brochures, newsletters, and articles pertaining to tour attractions; and press releases. Some of the larger tours documented in these records include "Miami: Tropical Skyline" and "Los Angeles: An Architectural Mecca."

Also documented is the "Museum Mile Street Festival," an annual event sponsored by the Cooper-Hewitt Museum. These records include correspondence, monthly reports, meeting minutes, promotional materials, and photographs.
