DESCRIPTIVE ENTRY
This accession documents educational outreach programs such as tours,
lectures, and workshops offered by the Cooper-Hewitt Museum. The records were
maintained by the Education Department, which was not formally established
until 1991. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, and notes of program
coordinators and their contacts; budget summaries; tour planning information,
itineraries, evaluation forms, reports, and agreements; meeting minutes;
brochures, newsletters, and articles pertaining to tour attractions; and press
releases. Some of the larger tours documented in these records include "Miami:
Tropical Skyline" and "Los Angeles: An Architectural Mecca."
Also
documented is the "Museum Mile Street Festival," an annual event sponsored by
the Cooper-Hewitt Museum. These records include correspondence, monthly
reports, meeting minutes, promotional materials, and photographs.
